Netherlands Unlimited eSIM from $1 - No Roaming Data

Once you pass your chosen daily high-speed amount, your speed slows to 2G until the 24-hour cycle resets. Basic messaging and email generally keep working, but maps, video, and big downloads become slow. That matters in a country where many people get around by train, tram, and bike, since live route planning needs a steadier connection. A larger daily tier, such as 3GB or 10GB, helps if you navigate constantly or upload a lot of content. Lighter users can often stay within 500MB or 1GB, especially if they use hotel and cafe Wi-Fi for streaming. When the reset hits, full-speed data returns automatically, and you do not need to do anything to restore it.

Pick any of 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, or 30 days, and pair it with the daily data tier you prefer. A layover in Amsterdam might only need 1 day, a long weekend between Rotterdam, Utrecht, and The Hague suits 3 or 5 days, and a week of cycling and museum visits fits the 7-day option. Students, business travelers, and remote workers staying longer can choose 15, 20, or 30 days. With eSIMnow, duration and daily data are chosen independently, so you can build the plan around your real itinerary. Top-ups are not available, so adding a spare day is a sensible cushion if your flight time or schedule might change.

This eSIM covers the Netherlands only. Inside the Netherlands, though, you get a full daily allowance on local 5G networks. That means it will not give you coverage if you hop on a train to Belgium or Germany, so you should not count on it for cross-border day trips, even though the borders are close. If your itinerary includes several European countries, a multi-country option is a better match, and eSIMnow offers a Europe plan that covers 30 or more areas. For a trip centered on Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, or smaller towns in between, the single-country plan keeps things simple and affordable. Check your route before buying, and choose based on how many borders you expect to cross.

No, top-ups are not available on this plan. You set your daily high-speed tier and your number of days when you order, and those choices stay the same. The structure gives you a built-in safety net, since your allowance resets every 24 hours and the connection continues at unlimited 2G speeds if you pass your daily limit. If your trip runs longer than planned, the simple fix is to buy another plan and install it with a new QR code. To reduce the chance of that, think about your heaviest days, such as long train journeys with navigation running, and choose a daily tier that covers them. Adding one extra day to your duration is a low-cost way to stay protected.

This is a data-only plan, so it does not come with a Dutch phone number, traditional calls, or SMS. Your mobile data does power internet-based calling and messaging, so apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram, and Signal work for reaching hosts, friends, or colleagues. Many visitors find that this covers everything they need, from confirming a bike rental to telling family they have landed. If you want to keep your home number for incoming texts or verification codes, leave your regular SIM in your phone and turn its data roaming off, while the eSIM handles the internet. eSIMnow suggests keeping long video calls for Wi-Fi, since they draw from your daily high-speed allowance much faster than voice calls or messages.

The Netherlands eSIM connects to Vodafone 5G, KPN 5G, and Odido 5G, so your phone has three supported networks to choose from. It picks between them automatically, and you do not need to select a carrier by hand. KPN is the long-established national operator, while Odido and Vodafone are also major names, and between them they cover Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, and Eindhoven well. The compact, flat country makes coverage generally good across most areas, including along rail lines and cycling routes. Signal can still vary inside thick-walled buildings, on busy trains, or on remote islands such as those in the Wadden Sea, so downloading a few essentials offline is a sensible precaution.

No hidden roaming fees come with this plan. You prepay for your daily data tier and number of days, so the checkout price covers your eSIM use on Dutch networks. The one place surprises can sneak in is your home SIM, which can still roam and bill you at international rates if its mobile data stays on. Before you fly, switch off data roaming on that line and choose the eSIM for mobile data in your phone settings. With eSIMnow handling your internet, you can use maps, ride apps, and messaging freely around Amsterdam without counting every megabyte. Taking that one minute to adjust your settings now helps you avoid an unpleasant surprise on your next bill.

Yes, hotspot and tethering are supported, so you can share your eSIM connection with a laptop, tablet, or another phone, provided your handset allows it. Anything connected through your hotspot draws from the same daily high-speed allowance as your phone. When that allowance is gone, shared devices slow to 2G speeds right along with your phone. If you plan to work from a coworking space in Rotterdam or a canal-side cafe in Amsterdam, a 3GB or 10GB daily tier gives you far more room than 500MB, since laptops can use data quickly on video calls and file syncing. Switching off hotspot when you are done, and pausing automatic cloud backups, is an easy way to make your data last.

You can buy up to 180 days before your trip, and your plan only begins when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in the Netherlands. That means you can secure your plan the moment you book your flights or train tickets, without worrying about wasting any days. The QR code arrives by email after checkout, and many travelers install it on home Wi-Fi a day or two before leaving, then switch on the line when they reach Schiphol. Doing it in advance saves you from queuing at a SIM counter or hunting for a signal in a busy terminal. Once you land, a quick tap on your eSIM settings is typically all that is left.
