Germany Unlimited eSIM from $1.08 - No Roaming Data

Once you use up the fast data you selected for the day, the plan keeps running at unlimited 2G speeds until your next 24-hour reset. You will still be able to send messages, check email, and load simple pages, but maps, video, and large app updates can feel sluggish at that pace. Then, when the reset arrives, high-speed data returns at the full amount you chose. If you rely on navigation apps for city transit or road trips on the Autobahn, consider a bigger tier such as 3GB, 5GB, or 10GB per day. Another good habit is downloading offline maps and train tickets on Wi-Fi at your hotel, which keeps your daily allowance free for things that really need a live connection.

With eSIMnow, you can select 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, or 30 days, so the plan can be shaped around the exact length of your visit. A quick business trip to Frankfurt might only need 3 days, while a week exploring Hamburg, Cologne, and the Rhine Valley fits the 7-day option. Students on a semester abroad, remote workers, and longer holidays can choose 20 or 30 days. Your daily high-speed tier is picked separately, which means you can pair a modest 1GB per day with a long stay, or a hefty 10GB per day with a short one. Because top-ups are not offered here, adding a spare day gives you some wiggle room if your plans change.

No, top-ups are not available for this plan, but you stay covered differently. Your daily allowance renews every 24 hours, and if you run through it early, the connection continues at unlimited 2G speeds rather than switching off. That makes it hard to get stranded, even on a busy day of navigation and photo sharing. If you would rather have the option to add more data in the middle of a trip, eSIMnow also offers a separate Germany plan with fixed data amounts that supports top-ups. When staying with this daily option, choose a tier slightly above your normal habits, and decide on your number of days carefully, since extending the plan means buying a new one.

This is a data-only plan, so it doesn't come with a German phone number, traditional calls, or SMS. What you do get is dependable mobile data, and that opens the door to calling and messaging through internet-based apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram, or Signal. Most visitors find that covers everything from confirming a restaurant booking to catching up with relatives back home. Your regular SIM can stay in your phone as well, so you keep your usual number for incoming texts while the eSIM provides data. Keep in mind that voice and video calls use your daily high-speed allowance, so a long video chat could eat into the data you need for maps or ride apps.

This eSIM connects to O2 5G and Vodafone 5G, two of Germany’s major mobile networks. Your phone selects between the supported options automatically, so there is no manual network setup once you arrive. Having two carriers to choose from helps with consistency as you travel between cities, since service can differ from one neighborhood or rail corridor to the next. Coverage is generally strongest in larger cities and along main transport routes, while rural villages, forests, and some stretches of the countryside can be patchier. Trains also tend to interrupt signal in tunnels and cuttings. If you are heading to the Black Forest or the Bavarian Alps, it helps to download offline maps beforehand so you stay on track if the signal dips.

No hidden roaming fees come with this plan. You prepay for the daily data tier and number of days you want, and you can use it on local networks in Germany without surprise charges from eSIMnow. Keep an eye on your home SIM, though, because it can still roam and bill you at your carrier’s rates if its data stays on. Before you land, switch off data roaming for that line and select the eSIM as your mobile data connection. Since Germany sits within the EU, some home plans from European carriers include roaming allowances, but visitors from elsewhere often face steep rates, so it is well worth confirming with your provider before your trip.

Yes, tethering and hotspotting work on this plan, so your laptop, tablet, or a friend’s phone can use the connection from your eSIM, as long as your handset supports sharing. Data used by those devices comes from the same daily allowance, and the same 24-hour reset applies. Once the daily amount is gone, everything connected falls back to unlimited 2G speeds. Laptops and tablets tend to use more data than phones, especially with video calls or cloud syncing, so 3GB, 5GB, or 10GB per day makes more sense for working on the move. A little housekeeping, such as pausing automatic updates and backups while tethered, goes a long way toward stretching your data through a long train ride or a busy day.

You can purchase up to 180 days before you fly, which means there is no need to rush or leave it to the last moment. Your plan only starts once the eSIM links with a network that is supported in Germany, so those pre-arrival days do not cost you any coverage. Many travelers install the eSIM at home a few days ahead by scanning the QR code that eSIMnow emails after checkout. That way, you can land at Frankfurt or Munich airport, switch on the line, and have data ready before you reach the baggage belt. Doing the setup on your home Wi-Fi is far easier than sorting it out in a crowded terminal, so buy early and install whenever it suits you.
