Each day you receive a fixed amount of high-speed data, and it renews every 24 hours. You choose the daily amount, with options of 500MB, 1GB, 2GB, 3GB, 5GB, or 10GB, and then pick how many days you will be in the Emirates. Use your allowance for Google Maps in Dubai, ride apps, and restaurant bookings in the morning, and it refreshes for the next day’s adventures. If you exceed your daily amount, the plan keeps you online at unlimited 2G speeds until the reset. With eSIMnow, you can tailor both the speed budget and the duration, which suits quick Abu Dhabi stopovers as well as longer stays split between Dubai, Sharjah, and the coast.
After you use the high-speed data you chose for the day, your connection continues at unlimited 2G speeds until the next 24-hour reset. At 2G, basic messaging and email usually work, but maps, video, and large downloads are slow, so it helps to plan around your heavier tasks. When the reset arrives, your full-speed allowance returns, and your next day starts fresh. If you will be using ride apps, navigation, and social media in a busy city like Dubai, consider 3GB, 5GB, or 10GB per day for extra headroom. Smaller tiers suit light users who spend most of the day on hotel, mall, or cafe Wi-Fi and use mobile data mainly for quick checks and messages.
Only partly, because the UAE restricts certain calling apps. The eSIM gives you mobile data only, but under UAE telecom rules, voice and video calls on popular apps such as WhatsApp and FaceTime are generally restricted, and that applies to residents and visitors alike. Messaging works normally, including text, photos, and voice notes, so you can still stay in touch with family and colleagues. For live calls, locally licensed apps such as Botim are the usual alternative, and some other conferencing services may also work. We cannot promise how any individual app will perform, because the rules sit with the local regulator. If calls matter during your trip, plan for messaging first and check which calling apps are permitted before you land.
Choose from 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, or 30 days, which lets you match the plan to everything from a layover to a long assignment. A transit day in Dubai may only need 1 day, while a week of beaches, desert safaris, and malls in Dubai and Abu Dhabi fits the 7-day option. Business travelers attending conferences or expats waiting for local connections to be set up can opt for 20 or 30 days. Your duration is chosen separately from your daily high-speed tier, so you can pair, for example, 2GB per day with 10 days. Since top-ups are not supported, adding a spare day helps if your flight is delayed or your plans stretch.
No, eSIMnow does not offer top-ups on this UAE plan. You pick a daily high-speed tier and a duration when you order, and that setup stays the same for the whole plan. Because your allowance renews each day and the connection falls back to 2G speeds instead of cutting off, you are unlikely to lose service entirely, even on a busy day of navigation and photo sharing. If your trip is extended, you can purchase a new plan and install it with a fresh QR code. To avoid that step, estimate your usage with a margin, choose a slightly higher daily tier if you plan to work or stream, and add a day or two beyond your scheduled departure.
This eSIM is data only, so it doesn't come with a UAE phone number, voice minutes, or SMS. Internet-based messaging apps use your mobile data, and that is how most visitors keep in touch while in the country. Because the UAE restricts some calling features on popular apps, messaging, photos, and voice notes tend to be the most dependable options, and licensed calling apps are available for live conversations. You can keep your home SIM in your phone as a second line for incoming calls and texts, though your carrier may charge roaming rates for receiving them. Leave data roaming off on that line, and let the eSIM provide all your internet so your home plan does not run up any unexpected data costs.
eSIMnow’s UAE eSIM connects to Etisalat 5G. Etisalat, part of e&, is one of the country’s two major operators, and it has extensive coverage across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the other emirates. Your phone joins the network automatically after you arrive and enable the eSIM, so there is no manual setup beyond installing the plan. Performance is typically excellent in urban areas, shopping malls, airports, and along major highways, while remote desert stretches and some offshore or mountain locations can be less consistent. Because this plan relies on a single carrier, a quick check of your planned destinations is wise if you intend to venture far from the cities, particularly for off-road desert excursions.
No hidden roaming fees come with this plan. You prepay for your daily tier and number of days, so the checkout price covers your eSIM data on the UAE network. The thing to guard against is your home SIM, which can still roam and bill you at international rates if its data stays on. Before you land in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, turn off data roaming for that line and set the eSIM as your mobile data connection. Doing so takes under a minute. Because maps, ride apps, and booking tools use data constantly in a busy city, this simple step can spare you a surprisingly large bill later. With eSIMnow carrying your data, your home plan can quietly stay in the background.
Yes, tethering and hotspotting are supported, so you can share your eSIM data with a tablet, laptop, or another phone if your handset allows it. All shared usage comes from the same daily high-speed allowance, and when it is gone, connected devices drop to 2G along with your phone. Working from a hotel lobby or coworking space in Dubai is much smoother with a 3GB, 5GB, or 10GB daily tier, because video meetings and file uploads can consume a lot of data very quickly. If you only need to tether occasionally, a smaller tier may do. Switch hotspot off when finished, and avoid auto-syncing large folders over mobile data to keep your daily allowance available.
You can buy your UAE eSIM up to 180 days before you travel, and it will not start until it links with a network that is supported in the UAE. That makes it easy to pick up your plan when you book flights or a hotel, then set it up in your own time. eSIMnow emails the QR code shortly after checkout, so you can scan it on home Wi-Fi a day or two before departure and keep the line switched off until you land at Dubai International or Abu Dhabi. After arrival, turning the eSIM on is normally all it takes to connect, and you can skip the airport SIM counters and head straight for your ride or hotel.
